In Support of Ukraine
As the completely unprovoked horrific war rages on in Ukraine wreaking more and more devastation, The New University in Exile Consortium based at the New School urges you to sign our statement strongly condemning the Russian invasion, standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and ready to assist the many scholars, students, and artists whose lives are at risk and whose work is disrupted.
The Consortium is a growing group of over 40 universities and colleges in the US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, the UK, and South Africa whose mission is to assist and protect threatened scholars everywhere. We need your voice.
We, members of the American and international academic community, professors and students alike, emphatically condemn the Russian military aggression against Ukraine and its contempt for international law.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, we are humbled by their courage, and with those in Russia who are protesting a war of choice launched by their government.
We are committed to extend our support, in whatever ways we can, to scholars and students who find themselves displaced and at risk from this act of war.
We demand immediate withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine and ending of all the pressures on that country.
